Easter Fabric Banner DIY
Last updated on December 18th, 2025 at 02:56 pm
We absolutely love Easter here on the farm—though I often find myself wishing the stores had as many cute decorations for Easter as they do for Christmas. Christmas will always hold a special place in our hearts as we celebrate the birth of Christ, but Easter carries its own deep, beautiful meaning.
Out in the pasture, this is the season when new life fills our fields—little lambs, kids, and calves running and leaping with that irresistible springtime energy. But more importantly, Easter is a time to slow down and reflect on the unbelievable sacrifice of our Savior. His mercy, forgiveness, and love give us the chance to learn, grow, and experience the fullness of life. That truth is never lost on me.
Maybe that’s why I adore this Easter Fabric Banner DIY. It’s a craft that embraces imperfection—in the best way. Every slightly uneven strip or mismatched fabric somehow comes together to create something charming and meaningful. The texture, the colors, the simplicity… it all feels nostalgic and homey. And when it’s hanging up in the house, it instantly brings that gentle Easter warmth inside.

How to Make Your Own Easter Fabric Strip Banner
Step 1: Measure & Prep Your Twine
Measure the area where you want to hang your banner—fireplace mantel, entryway table, kitchen shelves, wherever you need a touch of spring.
Once you know the length, cut your jute twine to size.
Tie an Overhand Loop Knot on both ends of the twine to create easy hanging loops.

Step 2: Cut Your Fabric Strips
Set the twine aside and begin cutting your fabric into strips using your pinking shears.
- Width: 1–2 inches
- Length: 4 inches or longer
Don’t stress about making them perfect—truly. A variety of lengths and angles gives the banner character!

Step 3: Tie the Fabric to the Twine
Once you have a nice pile of strips, start tying them onto the twine in any order or color pattern you like.
You can:
- Mix colors randomly
- Create a repeating pattern
- Go full pastel or full rustic
- Fill the twine completely or leave some space on the ends
If your banner is longer, you may need to cut more strips.

Step 4: Hang & Customize
When you’ve tied on enough fabric and love how it looks, it’s ready to hang!
Optional Add-Ons:
If you want extra Easter charm, try adding:
- Mini Easter eggs
- Wooden bunny cutouts
- Small cross ornaments
- Faux greenery or spring florals
These little touches take the banner from sweet to truly special.
