We have been blessed as a family to be able to spend a lot of time together. Sometimes, too much time. However, the time we spent together was something that not everyone wanted to do. Sometimes, it was working on the farm, homeschooling, cleaning the house, or going to other activities. We didn’t always think to do a fun activity that we all would enjoy until one day, our daughter spoke up. She told my husband and I that she wanted to start having a family night. She wanted to watch a movie, eat popcorn, and drink a smoothie with us. We loved the idea.
We hadn’t realized that we needed something like that, but we did. Listening to our daughters’ words was the best thing we could have done. Having this special night once a week has brought us closer together. It also allows us to look forward to the end of the week. Who knew something so simple could bring so much joy?
Because our smoothies has brought us so much joy, we wanted to share our strawberry banana smoothie recipe with you. It is healthy and delicious and is the perfect treat or dessert.

What You’ll Need

  • A frozen bag of mixed fruit (Strawberry & Banana)
  • Juice (we recommend White Grape, Peach, Pear or Apple Juice)
  • Equipment: Blender
  • Vanilla

For this strawberry banana smoothie recipe there are not a lot of measurements. This recipe will be based on your preference.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie Steps

Step 1

  • Grab the frozen bag of mixed fruit strawberry & banana (do not let the fruit thaw out)
  • Once you have your frozen fruit fill your blender halfway.

Step 2

  • After filling the blender with fruit add the juice. About 1/2 cup of juice. We recommend White Grape, Peach, Pear or Apple Juice with the Strawberries and Bananas. Orange juice makes the smoothie to tart.
  • Add a little juice at a time until you get the consistency you desire.
  • Once the juice is in the blender, blend until smooth

Step 3

  • If you would like more fruit then add more fruit and if you need to thin your smoothie add more juice
  • Blend until smooth

Step 4

  • Once you have the desire amount of smoothie add a teaspoon of vanilla for flavor
  • Blend until mixed

This smoothie is a great treat to bring the family together. Even though the smoothie is cold, we love to drink it in the summer and winter. There is something about a delicious-healthy treat that melts the weather away and allows you to sit back and relax.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

A quick and easy simple healthy breakfast or treat.

Prep Time 15 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Frozen bag of mixed fruit: Strawberry and Banana
  • Juice (recommend: white grape, pear, peach or apple juice)
  • Vanilla

Instructions

  1. Fill your blender halfway with frozen fruit mixture
  2. Add your juice (about 1/2 cup)
  3. Blend until smooth (if it is to thick add more juice)
  4. You may add more frozen fruit or juice to get the amount you desire and thickness
  5. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  6. Blend until mixed
  7. Enjoy!

Notes

The more juice you add the thinner the smoothie will be.

If you desire a thicker smoothie add more fruit.
