A simple natural life

We believe faith, family and freedom are essential to a simple natural life. Instead of starting off with faith I want to discuss freedom first. When I was younger, the first thing I envisioned when I heard the word “freedom” was the American flag, the founding fathers, the Constitution, and the American Revolutionary War. It is one of my favorite time periods to study. However, as I got older, my understanding of freedom began to evolve, or perhaps I started to expand my vision of what freedom means.
One example that captures my imagination is homesteading, reminiscent of “Little House on the Prairie.” I love that show! The simplicity of life and how the community supported one another truly resonates with me. I’ve come to appreciate a different kind of freedom that they experienced. There are aspects of farm life and the 1800s that fascinate me. I would love for life to slow down, to travel to town in a horse and buggy instead of driving a car. Even if I had to walk everywhere, I would enjoy it. Admittedly, I would still appreciate some modern conveniences and knowledge. My husband may think I’m a little crazy at times, but that would be my dream.
Now, how does “Little House on the Prairie” embody freedom? When you own animals, you can’t just go on vacation or travel for the weekend. You need to stay close to home or find really good friends who will take care of your animals. However, if traveling isn’t a priority for you, then homesteading can be an incredible opportunity to learn how to raise and grow your own food, understand how to treat and heal yourself and your animals, and mend and fix what your family needs. Freedom is ultimately the ability to learn and grow.
No one can take away your knowledge
I know that for many people, owning land, raising animals, and having a large garden may not be realistic. However, freedom isn’t just about a place or possessions; it’s about the knowledge to learn and grow. Never stop learning and never stop growing.
Faith

God has placed us on this Earth to learn and grow. We all make mistakes, even when we are trying our very best. Throughout this journey, we will experience many ups and downs, just as others have. Please do not lose faith! Turn to your Heavenly Father and ask for guidance, strength, and forgiveness.
I am still learning, and sometimes God gives me the same lesson because I am too slow to learn it the first time. However, when we turn to Him with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, He will lead, guide, and heal us so that we can become the best versions of ourselves.
So, what does it mean to have a broken heart and a contrite spirit? These phrases from the Bible essentially mean to humble yourself, take responsibility for your role in whatever has happened, and surrender your will to God’s will. There have been times when following God’s will has been scary because of the unknown, but it has always worked out in the end. God has never led us down a path that He did not intend for us to take. The key is to turn to Him and follow His guidance, instead of pursuing our own desires.
We promise that as you navigate the path of a naturally simple life with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, God will walk with you. He may not stop every storm that comes your way, but He will help you weather it. When you come out on the other side, you will be stronger and closer to the person you are meant to become.

Welcome! I’m Sam!
Our journey to homesteading is a story of mistakes, learning, and some heartache. We would not change a thing.
Family

Though I write about family last, it is by no means the least important topic. Without God and the ability to learn, our families cannot grow together as they should. One of God’s many purposes for us on this earth is family. The first commandment God gave Adam and Eve was to multiply and replenish the earth.
Family is essential to God’s plan. Families support, uplift, and bring joy and happiness to God’s children. It’s no wonder that Satan is so determined to destroy families in our time; he understands the incredible power that family holds over individuals, communities, and nations.
We are immensely grateful for our family. Although we may struggle and argue at times, our love for God inspires us to humble ourselves and learn what we need to do to stay together. We hope that your family can do the same so we can all meet God again with joy and gladness.
As we embark on this journey of embracing a naturally simple life, guided by our core values of faith, family, and freedom, we are dedicated to sharing the profound love of God that inspires us each day. We believe that by nurturing our relationships with one another and following our spiritual beliefs, we can create a fulfilling and compassionate life. Our mission is to not only live out these principles but also to explore and share the beautiful experiences and blessings that come from trusting in God’s plans for us. Through our actions and reflections, we hope to inspire others to discover the joys of a life rooted in faith, the warmth of family bonds, and the richness of true freedom.
“I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 1:6
